To celebrate the grand opening of its new Greendale, Ind., facility, Mike’s Carwash gave away free washes at that location, April 20-24. In return for the free wash, Mike’s encouraged customers to make monetary donations to The Community Project.

Over the course of the weather-extended, four-day weekend, Mike’s customers supported the fundraising event with $33,979 in contributions to The Community Project.

“We’re truly grateful to our loyal customers for visiting our new Greendale facility this past weekend,” said Joe Dahm, president of Mike’s Carwash. “And, of course, we’re proud to support The Community Project, and the amazing work they do for the residents of Southeastern Indiana.”

Founded in 2021, The Community Project’s mission is to identify and bring awareness to the current and ongoing needs of the residents of Southeastern Indiana.

“What a fantastic event,” said Rachel Reynolds, co-founder of The Community Project. “These funds will help us to continue our mission of caring for our homeless population, feeding as many of the hungry as we can, making a child's Christmas a little brighter, and offering a family to anyone who may otherwise spend Christmas alone. And it gives us a start toward something more permanent, a drop-in center. Mike's has shown us that they are here to offer a great service, but also to support our community!”
